The loading process (NiMH- or Li-Ion) is controlled by an automotive microcontroller (CC / CV- controlling).
The K-tronic intelligent charging system ICS stores up to 20 individual battery charging curves and optimises the charging process for the best results and cuts off by detecting the full charging level;  the radio may pluged in (ON or OFF) all the time.
The two-colour LED indicates ready-for-use, charging with constant current (CC) or constant voltage (CV) and also temperature failure or batterie faults.

Keypad and accessory connector of the radio are accessible when the radio is inserted into the charging system. Batteries can be also charged stand-alone without the radio unit.
The rugged aluminium case is plastic-coated for secure sliding in and prevents scratches.
